BINT is an interdisciplinary artist creating immersive work across sound, visual, and contemporary Islamic folk art.
As a SWANA femme in diaspora — rooted in a constellation of ancestral lineages (Egyptian, Pakistani, American) — she translates the esoteric tools & crafts of her heritage into tangible objects, installations, and multisensory experiences that invite reflection and activation.
As an artist and musician, her current work explores technological uses of applied magic often in public, experiential settings; most recently using combinations of sound, sampling, ritual and various methods of computer-processing to create multisensory experiences. Her practice investigates the perennial role of the artist-mystic as cultural preserver and liberation worker.
As a musician, BINT turns to a palette of dissonance, distortion, long-form drones, sampling and noise to access corresponding emotional states in herself and listeners–most known for her unusual approach to processed harmonium and multilingual vocals, through analog synthesis, pedals and cassette tape.
She has shown work internationally, including a wide range of commissions and collaborations with the likes of Black Sabbath, Joan La Barbara, Yale CCAM, Coachella Music & Arts Festival and the Arab American National Museum.

📌 Please note a number of recent works from 2023-2024 are currently being updated and added to the site. Make sure to check back after September 6th for a more complete site & portfolio.
