Act I of III.
A selection of early tracks and atonal explorations written and recorded between 2015-2019 using a tanpura, harmonium, Korg MS20, Elektron Digitakt, Roland RE-201 Space Echo, field recordings, cassette samples and vocals.
Scene I: Dross Overture (in Raga Bhairav) - Running a tanpura Indian drone instrument through Boss DS-1 distortion pedal, Behringer VM1 Vintage Time Machine pedal, Elektron Analog Heat.
Scene II: Left on Saturn St - Korg MS20, Elektron Digitakt playing field recordings and samples. Vocals are an adaptation in Arabic of ‘Ya Raoui’ by Souad Massi.
Scene III: Long gone already, don’t call out to me (in Raga Kirwani) - Live harmonium and cassette samples. Written, arranged and recording by Bint. Includes select childhood cassette samples of the late great Mehdi Hassan (1927-2012).
Scene IV: Janitor of Lunacy - Cover of original song by Nico (Desertshore, 1970), using harmonium, Korg MS20, Roland RE-201 Space Echo. Co-written and produced with Khaled Sadi of Hexagram Studios.
